Claude Monet – The Studio Boat

Monet was one of the pioneers of painting in "plein air" (Open Air) rather than in the refuges of a studio. To assist in this he had built a "studio boat" so that he could have the advantages of a studio whilst out on the river. He painted a number of pieces portraying the boat and these are portrayed here, as well as one done by Edouard Manet.
